Facebook, the most popular social networking site has officially announced Facebook Messenger for Windows. This official app for Windows is available as a free of charge. Well, you probably know what it is, if you’re an iPhone, Android or BlackBerry user. It’s a chat client for Windows which allows you to chat with your Facebook friends without going to the Facebook website.
At the moment, this app is only compatible with Windows 7, and requires you to log into Facebook through your browser.
This app looks almost similar to the chat bar used on the Facebook.com. This app will display notifications when your friends want to chat, also Friend Activity will be shown, however if you click on these items, it will take you to a web browser, same thing applies to your Facebook inbox.
Once, you log in, you’ll be able to chat with your friends, just like Google Talk or Windows Live Messenger. Also it allows you to dock it to the right side of your computer screen like a Desktop sidebar. And if you want to log out, you just need to open the system tray and there you can log out easily.

Now you don’t have to open your browser and log into Facebook, simply open this app whenever you want to chat with your friends. And when you’re done, simply go to the system tray and exit from this app.
