A 64-bit Windows 7 base image will be available on March 1 , 2010  for the W500, T61p, and T61. The 64-bit Windows 7 base  image will include:

32-bit Windows 7 Ultimate upgrade media, which checks for a legal copy of  Windows  installed on your computer, is available to students participating in the Mobile Computing Program through the Rensselaer Campus Computer Store for $20. You can use this upgrade media to do a recommended "clean" install of  Windows 7 ; for a "clean" install, back up your files to external media, reformat the hard disk, install  Windows 7 , and re-install your applications.
